Team Jesus has a good day...
Team Jesus Racing was at Speedworld this past weekend. We started Sunday off with a Chapel Service. We had about 25 people attend the service, so that was really nice. I though Kirk did a great job delivering the message on how to witness to others. Thanks to all of you that attended, let’s invite our friends to the service this Sunday at Ocotillo, so we can share God’s grace.
The day was hot once again! Carter Griffin is a on a winning streak, Carter took first place overall in the 50cc age 7-8 and the 50 open. Way to go Carter! Josh Zimbal won his first motocross trophy in the 25+ class. Josh rode awesome in only his second race of his career and finished 3rd overall. Trevor Gatewood rode well in the 125 Beginner class, Trevor finished 9th overall on the day.
As for me (Ryan Mortensen), the 250 Pro class, I had a ton a lot of tough competition. There were eight 250 Pros. It was another great turnout for the AMX State Championship race. First moto, I pulled the holeshot, but Nathan Rivera snuck by me on the inside. Rivera looked fast until he fell in the corner after the finish. Chris Blose took the moto win with Clay Higgins close behind, Tyler Johnson in third and I finished 4th. Second moto, I got another good start. I was in second behind Higgins and then Blose passed me soon after. I was able to hold off a hard charging Rivera and Tyler Johnson to finish 3rd that moto and 3rd overall for the day. I was pretty happy with that!
This Wednesday don’t forget to go out to ACP. “ACP will have practice this Wednesday night, Oct. 5th, Bikes Only, 6pm to 10pm. There will be free MX Riding Tips sponsored by Team Jesus Racing with guest instructor, Ryan Mortensen. The featured lesson will be the rhythm section.”
Team Jesus Racing’s next chapel service will be October 9th at Ocotillo. Gates open at 7:00am, Chapel Service at 8:00am, this should give you plenty of time to enjoy the service before practice.
Team Jesus would like to thank God for this opportunity to spread His word and love in the motocross community.
