Beat the Heat is Complete
In Verde Valley this weekend the AMX wrapped up the 2005 ‘Beat the Heat’ series. There were a few Team Jesus riders at this race. Chelsey Nunes and Matt Horton competed in their first race at Verde Valley Motoplex. They both found out it takes some time to figure out a new track. Chelsey’s high-light of the evening was her hole-shot in moto two. Matt also had a tough night riding the unfamiliar track.
I also made the trek up to Verde to finish out the series. Basically, all I had to do was sign up and I was going to win the 125 Pro Series Championship. But my main focus was on the 250 Pro class for the night. Where, Tyler Johnson, Paul Pearcy, and I raced for the $100 per moto, for first place. Tyler took an easy win the first moto, and I was second with Paul right behind me. In the second moto, I prayed so hard for God to give me the chance to bring glory to Him. When the gate dropped, I pulled the hole-shot. Tyler pressured me the entire moto, but I was able to stay out front and take the win. Thank you GOD!!!
Verde Valley Also did a fun event at intermission, where any rider that wanted to compete would ride down the finish line straight as fast as they could, as they clocked you with a radar gun. The only rule was that you had to make the turn at the end of the straight. Many people were unable to follow the only rule as they flew past the corner. When it was my turn, I just pinned it and clicked it to third gear, and gave it all I could. I ended pulling a wheelie, and I barely made the corner. I won the event with a 57 mph wheelie. Whoohoo!
At Canyon Off-road Park, Team Jesus rider, Carrie Anne Killebrew, won her first race in the 50cc class!!! Great job Carrie Anne! As for the big pro purse race at COP, Chris Blose took the easy win with California’s Jeff Willow in Second, and Nathan Rivera in third.
Team Jesus would also like to welcome new team members this week: Nick Beaver, Cody Katsilas, Josh Zimbal, and Rodney Honberger. Welcome, we are so happy to have you as part of the race team ministry.
Lastly, we would like to announce that Team Jesus Racing will be having a chapel service before the races this Sunday, September 4th at Verde Valley Motoplex. We look forward to seeing everyone there.
