Team Jesus Motivated at SW and ET
Team Jesus Racing held its third pre-race chapel service at Speedworld this past Saturday night at the AMX State Championship race. Kirk did a great job delivering the message with such short notice. We would like to thank everyone that attended the service and we look forward to seeing you at the next service at Ocotillo Raceway, September 25th.
Once again there were multiple races held this past Saturday night and Team Jesus Racing had strong showings at both tracks.
First at Speedworld, we had Carter Griffin putting in strong rides on his flaming KTM 50, where he finished 2nd in both the 50cc age 7-8 and the 50cc open . Carter also raced the 65 age and took a 5th. Next time you are in the pits check out number #114, his KTMs are on fire for the Lord!
The Killebrew’s were also at SW, where Carrie Anne #08, is getting faster and faster on her KTM 50. Kyle #09, was there with his daughter, and it was his first race back from a fractured wrist. Kyle was ripping around the track in the 30+ Pro class, where he placed second overall. Kyle may have finished first if it weren’t for a couple mistakes. Great job Carrie Anne and Kyle!
Then we have another new team member in the 125 pro class. It is none other than Paul Pearcy #27! We are excited to have Paul on the team; he is a nice guy and always attends the Chapel services. Paul looked fast in his RMZ250, but was just a little off the pace from the front runners. Good ride Paul, you will get them next race!
Trevor Gatewood #369, was riding good in the 125 Beginner class and finished 12 in the first moto, and 10th in the second. Good job Trevor, and thanks for supporting us at the chapel service.
And me, Ryan Mortensen #187, rode the 250 pro class, were there were 10 Arizona pros! I was excited to get to race some tough competition. I had two solid motos, which gave me a 3rd overall. Chris Blose #103, won the overall and Erik Anderson #11, was 2nd. Nathan Rivera #747, Brent Davey #92, and Tyler Johnson #28 were riding fast, but just didn’t put together 2 motos.
At ET, Team Jesus Racing had 4 team members racing their hearts out to bring glory to God. Bobby Worth #2 on a KTM, had a great night, finishing 1st in the Supermini and an 8th in the Big Bike Open. Matt Horton #32, got a 4th in the Schoolboy and 8th in the 125 Novice. Matt said, “the best ive rode in a while”. Way to go Matt! Chelsey Nunes raced the 85 Beginner class after her hard crash at Glen Helen last week. Chelsey finished 6th overall and said she felt a lot smoother. Well, I for one am glad to hear that! Good ride Chelsey. And last but definitely not least Team Jesus Racing had Britanie Lopez with her new #726, in the 125 Beginner class, finishing 7th, and she still has the series points lead for the class. Britanie also placed second overall in the Women’s class.
